The Spirituality Program at the Center for Lifelong Learning offers two certificate programs for clergy and laypersons in Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Formation.
Spiritual Direction, often called spiritual companioning or spiritual friendship, is an intentional relationship between a person seeking spiritual guidance and a trained individual (the spiritual director).
Become a Spiritual Director through the CLL’s certificate program comprised of four week–long residencies on the CTS campus, and an 18–month supervised practice in the art of spiritual direction. The certificate can be completed in two and a half years. Admission to the program is by application only.
Spiritual Formation allows learners to assist others on their faith journey as you deepen your own relationship with God by engaging in Spiritual Formation courses to enhance your spiritual life and growth. Participants can take courses to earn credit towards a Spiritual Formation certificate or enroll for personal enrichment. Unlike, Spiritual Direction, no application is required. These courses are open to everyone.
Non-certificate spirituality courses and programs are also available year-round. Click here to view the full list of spirituality courses and to register.
