Columbia Announces New Fund for Alumni Thriving

The family of Nancy Kinzer (MDiv ’11) has established the Nancy Clifton Kinzer Fund for Shalom at Columbia Theological Seminary. The fund will provide financial resources to enable alumni to enjoy reconnection, reflection, and care of body, mind, and spirit.  The Kinzer Fund will be used for the first time in connection with the 2025 Alumni Reunion Feb 26-28.

Kinzer, who passed away in 2022, lived a life of deep and abiding joy and faith. “She was gracious, thoughtful, loving and committed,” said Senior Director of Alumni & Church Relations, Julie Bailey. “Her ministry of care for others and her quest for justice has left an indelible mark on the world”. Her family created the fund to honor Nancy’s memory and continue her legacy at Columbia. The Nancy Clifton Kinzer Fund for Shalom aims to create opportunities for fellow alumni to take a step away from their busy ministries to care of themselves, connect with classmates and with the One who gives life, and live abundantly. In its inaugural year, the Fund will provide scholarships to Alumni Reunion for alumni who would otherwise not be able to afford to come and will underwrite wellness aspects of the event, such as yoga, time with a chaplain, and massage.
