This Hebrew-based exegesis course examines metaphors and other types of literary imagery in the Old Testament. Topics addressed include: the visual background of divine metaphors; the rhetorical function of imagery in prophetic discourse; the role of metaphors in biblical poetry; and the interplay between biblical metaphors and the theological imagination. Prerequisite B505 Hebrew or equivalent.
