B615 Old Testament Theology

Surveys the literature of the Old Testament, focusing on its diverse witnesses to the God of Israel who was incarnate in Jesus Christ. Examines topics such as the character and attributes of God, the presence of God, the knowledge of God, and the history of Israelite, Judahite and Jewish conceptions of God from various perspectives in biblical literature. Explores these matters in the context of the Old Testament as a whole, and in relation to Christian theology. Course fulfills the MAPT requirement for introductory Old Testament study.
