The purpose of the course is primarily to understand some of the key images of the Church in the New Testament, along with Old Testament passages that help inform those images. We will pay particular attention to the Pauline epistles, Matthew, Luke-Acts, and to Hebrews. We will look at some contemporary interpretations of church, and the final project will require applying the biblical material to one`s own denominational and congregational setting.
